Resident Food Services Director

Position: Seasonal Resident Food Services Director

Reports to: Camp Executive Director

Location: YMCA Camp Wakonda (22237 Lawrence 2080, Ash Grove, Mo)
Approximate Dates of Employment: May 18-August 4, 2018

Wage Range: $300-$350 per week with room and board

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create and review camp menus and inventory under the direction of the Camp Executive Director

  • Responsible for food ordering, inventory, preparation, serving, meal break down, general kitchen and dining hall cleaning

  • Ensure proper food service standards, including food storage and kitchen cleanliness

  • Provide outstanding and consistent customer service to all camp guests

  • Attend staff meetings and trainings

  • Responsible for strict adherence to policies and procedures related to safety and other regulations



  • Must be 18 years old and prior experience with youth and/or a food service setting

  • Must have or attain Missouri Serve Safe certification prior to camp

  • Possess a practical understanding and comprehensive knowledge of food service, storage and cleanliness standards

  • Exemplify the YMCA core values of “Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Faith & Friendship”

  • Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate changes in program schedule
