Position: Part Time Summer School Program Staff, Assistant Program Leaders,
and Program Leaders
Reports to: School Age Services Area Staff
Wage Range: $9.45 - $11.00 per hour (based on experience and education)
Locations: Ozarks Regional YMCA-Springfield, MO
The School Age Services (SAS) Program is seeking individuals to run our before and after summer school programs in the Springfield area, known as Explore. They will be responsible for planning, leading, and implementing recreational and creative experiences for school age children in a group setting. The incumbent provides high quality recreational and enrichment experiences for school aged children that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide premier service to all children and families involved in programs and meet children’s
needs through stimulated learning in all developmental areas.

Maintain responsibility for all aspects of safety and risk reduction in your program and ensure
children’s health and safety as stated in the Policy Handbook.

Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for school age children. Activities may
include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, etc.

Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized.

Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily rosters,
logbook documentation, and attendance records.

Maintain appropriate adult/child ratio minimum as specified in Department of Health and
Human Services school age childcare licensing handbook.

Maintain communication with supervisor as it relates to program needs, snacks, form, first aid
equipment, etc.

Attend all scheduled staff meetings and other training as directed by the School Age Services
Program Director
Qualifications:

At least 18 years of age with HSD or equivalent

CPR/First Aid certifications and Child Abuse trainings attained within 30 days of hire
