Wellness Coordinator

Position: Full-Time Wellness Coordinator

Reports to: Senior Membership Director

Location: Pat Jones YMCA (1901 E Republic St, Springfield, MO 65804)
Wage Range: Non-exempt/Hourly ($14.00 - $17.00 depending on experience)

Under the direction of the Senior Membership Director, the Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for the leadership and advancement of the wellness programs and strategy for the Pat Jones YMCA.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that daily care of members is a key priority through supervising of wellness staff.

  • Lead all wellness program staff by providing direction, leadership, support, and efficiencies for staff through strategic planning, administrative standardization, registration, quality standards, and risk management.

  • Collaborates with Center Leadership and staff to ensure excellence and consistency in service through daily care of members, program participants and volunteers.

  • Champion program curriculums, development, staffing and set annual standards that achieve programmatic outcomes and are reviewed and verified through audits, surveys, and program visits.

  • Represent and articulate the Association’s Wellness programs to individuals, businesses, and communities. 

  • Role Model strong fiscal stewardship through the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasting. 

  • Requires flexible hours to work evenings and weekends.

  • Champion program curriculums, development, staffing and set annual standards that achieve programmatic outcomes and are reviewed and verified through audits, surveys, and program visits.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience, with a minimum of 1-2 years of successful program development experience that includes managing staff with a preferred background in various Group Exercise and Adult Wellness areas. 

  • Should have a positive history of leadership in the areas of staff, volunteer and program development, fiscal budgeting and management, and operational procedures.

  • Must have experience in recruiting, training and motivating people and must understand the importance of retention.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills must have been obtained and demonstrated through past job experiences.

  • Possess the appropriate certifications and training in order to teach and direct a variety of wellness programs.

  • Must possess the skills to operate standard office and computer equipment. Must possess the effective communication, organizational and budgeting skills. Must be familiar with the basis operations of cardiovascular resistance equipment.
