Position: Part Time Swim Instructor
Locations: Lebanon Family YMCA
Reports to: Program Director

Wage range: $$8.60-$9.00per hour (based on experience)

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of participants while providing direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming class

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents

• Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers

• Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other YMCA programs

• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area

• Maintains records as required - completes incident and accident reports as necessary

• Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.

• Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 16

• Certifications:  CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid

• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards

• YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent
