Before & After School Care
The Y makes the most of your child’s out-of-school time by offering active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand young minds.Held right in local schools, YMCA Before & After School Care gives your child the chance to enjoy active play, build friendships, and collaborate on fun, hands-on projects in a safe and familiar setting.
Y Academy supports academic achievement, encourages healthy habits, builds positive social-emotional skills, and creates opportunities for youth and families to belong and connect.
What to Expect
Learning Through Play
Activities are designed to reinforce classroom concepts in fun, hands-on ways.
Healthy Snacks
Provided each afternoon to refuel and help children finish their day strong.
Convenient Locations
Held on-site at participating schools, so there’s no need for extra transportation during the day.
Program Details
- Who: Kindergarten – 8th grade, depending on location
- When: Before school (starting at 6:30 AM – Pershing and Cedar Ridge Only) and after school until 6PM (Buchanan and Cedar Ridge programs wrap up at 5:30 PM)
- Where: On-site at participating schools
- Cost: Springfield: $92/wk Y-Members; $112/wk Non-Members
- Surrounding communities: $85/wk Y-Members; $104/wk Non-Members
- Financial assistance is available.

Ozarks Regional YMCA recognizes that many of the children and families throughout our community would benefit from Y programs and services but cannot afford to participate. The Y’s commitment to our community assures that financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
