GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Our interns learn basic public relations and marketing skills that allow a different view of the
marketing world while building their portfolio. Interns learn basic design and production skills
along with hands-on technical experience. He/she will also exemplify the character values of
caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in the performance of all job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the Y brand by developing, implementing and maintaining consistent, accurate and
professional publications and promotional materials. Maintain the integrity of the Y logo by
adhering to the graphic standards set-forth by the YMCA of the USA. -
Opportunity to contribute creative ideas.

Working with in-house clients to brainstorm design ideas.

Build Software experience in Adobe Creative Suite and Macromedia (PC)

Grow familiarity with photography and editing, as well as various media platforms.

Inputting sports schedules, group ex schedules, pool schedules, etc., for App.

Create Templates for Sports, Swim Schedules, Group Ex, Holiday Hours, etc. for online
resources. -
Proofing process to take a job from idea to production.

Design and develop visually consistent annual publications including but not limited
to tri-fold brochures for each branch within the association, multiple-paged brochures for Camp Wakonda and sports programs; informational graphics, booklets, forms, applications, letterhead and envelopes.

Work with printers and other in-house marketing material to gain familiarity and
understanding of the printing process. -
Work with Executive Directors and Departmental Directors to develop promotions for special
events, including but not limited to invitations, banners and programs, signage, etc.-
Attending corporate branch, and community meetings.

Meet all production deadlines.
