STAYING SAFE TOGETHER

As we reopen some membership center locations, the Ozarks Regional YMCA is implementing the following safety protocols in an effort to reduce the health risks for members, staff and other visitors to our facility.

As the spread of COVID-19 continues to rise in Southwest Missouri, the safety of our members, staff and their families continues to be our top priority.  From sanitizing the equipment, wearing masks, and regulating social distancing, our Y staff is taking every precaution to ensure safety.  As a member, your role is essential in protecting each other.

With the recent developments, the Y has adjusted our policy to require members to wear masks in our facilities. Beginning this Thursday, members ages 12 and older must wear masks when entering and exiting our facilities, as well as in our common areas. Masks may be removed while playing sports, in the pool or during strenuous exercise. Based on many recent studies, the CDC has shared that masks are an effective way to curb the spread of droplets that can transmit the virus from person to person. Our goal is to ensure the safety of our members and staff, and we believe that this requirement will help us do so.

Helps us create a safe place at the Y and remember to have your masks on.

We can do this, together!

WHAT THE Y IS DOING

  • Personal Protective Equipment such as masks and gloves are available for All Staff.

  • Members will be asked to self-scan to allow for limited contact due to limited capacity based on state guidelines.  In addition, a  NEW waiver will need to be signed with first check-in. We will provide an outdoor check-in area when possible.

  • Designed for Social Distance: All open areas inside the Y have been evaluated and re-designed where necessary to help ensure social distancing between members. Signage will be placed prominently throughout the facility to drive awareness of this requirement.

  • The Y will be operating with modified hours to allow for deep cleaning and sanitizing.

Both staff and participants to the program will be screened daily as they enter. Screenings will consist of checking temperatures, questions regarding any recent symptoms involving any illness, and required hand washing.

We will closely adhere to the CDC’s recommendations for sanitation. Groups will be asked to sanitize and disinfect all table surfaces, sports equipment, and any other material that is used during program after each use. Additionally, Program Directors will do routine sanitation checks; ensuring that all program space has been disinfected and cleaned after use.

All groups will also be limited to a 1:12 ratio; each group having their own home station where program activities will take place.
