School Age Services Billing Specialist

Reports to: CFO 

Location: Association Offices, Downtown Springfield, MO

Classification: Full-Time/Non-Exempt/Hourly
Wage Range: 
$12-$15 per hour

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining an accurate billing database for the School Age Services department.  The Billing Specialist is also responsible for the complete billing process of SAS billing transactions, providing training on association wide SAS procedures and ensuring, and maintaining high level of confidentiality.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Behave as a role model for a cause driven, charitable, human development organization; be passionate about the quality of work… no tolerance for anything less.

  • Responsible for the complete billing process (processing, verifying, balancing, and adjustments) of SAS billing transactions for the association.

  • Ensure and maintain high level of confidentiality in regard to program participant account records, forms and banking information for SAS programs association wide

  • Lead in decision making for establishing payment plans for Springfield SAS delinquent accounts.

  • Value long term relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Measure outcomes to evaluate impact and relevance; focus on the outcome and not the minor setbacks

  • Remain positive and up-beat with a servant mindset in this supporting role.

  • Think of new and innovative ways to get things done, come to be with possible solutions to issues, and not just the issue itself.

  • Develop and implement association wide SAS procedures for YMCA scholarships, third party pay, and regular billing transactions

  • Provide training on association wide SAS procedures for YMCA scholarships, third party pay, regular billing transactions, and registration process for School Age Service Program Directors and Welcome Center staff

  • Reviewing and reconciling account balances

  • Processing and recording accounts receivable transactions

  • Coding, entering, reconciling, and balancing internal accounting records

  • Filing and scanning when necessary; and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree Preferred

  • Microsoft Office and Database experience, CCC preferred

  • Ability to maintain strict Confidentiality

  • Experience Prioritizing daily and weekly tasks and meet deadlines

  • Detail orientated with strong focus on accuracy

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
